Be careful what you ask for...

Lately I have been a little a ton irritable...with my husband that is.  You know after 15 years of doing the same thing and having to put up with the same issues...they get a little old.  So lately I have not been as patient as I should be.

Due to furlough Fridays, my husband was off this morning.  I am so blessed to be a work at home mom that I have the pleasure of getting my girls ready for school every morning...except on Fridays, then it's dads turn.  This morning when the girls were getting ready or not... I was wondering where my husband was.  Low and behold, he was on the computer up stairs.  It made me so angry that the one morning that he has the pleasure of getting the girls ready for school...he is on the computer.  Uggh!

So I was furious and got the girls ready myself.  When my husband was leaving to take the girls to school, I whispered to him..."to save your marriage, don't come back".  Of course I was angry and he didn't really mind.  Then a few minutes went by and no big deal...then a couple of  more minutes went by and he still wasn't home.  Holy crap...he really wasn't coming back!

At this point I was starting to panic a little.  I was just kidding...I didn't want him to leave.  I tried to call him and could hear his phone ring from the night stand in the bedroom.  Oh no...I couldn't even call him and tell him that I was sorry and wanted him to really come home.

An hour and a half goes by and I am sitting by the front window crippled by my emotions of what it would really be like without him.  I learned my lesson God, I won't say that to him again.  Please let him come home!

FINALLY...he comes home!  Oh thank heavens...I never really realized how much I missed him until he was gone.  It was actually a good little exercise and really turned out to be true when I told him, "if you want to save your marriage, don't come back".  Because that's exactly what he did.  He made me realize that I have to be careful for what I ask for and him ever leaving is not what I want. LOL

He thought it was hilarious!  He probably hasn't been greeted at home by me being that excited in a long time.  I couldn't quit hugging him...and he was cracking up!  He just went to detail my car for me...and I thought he was gone forever.  (I actually knew he wasn't gone forever but it made me really feel the empty pit in my stomach when he was gone and I learned very quickly, that's not the answer!)

God gives us lessons everyday and I learned mine today in a BIG way!

Thank you Jesus!

My brave husband...

This evening my husband comes downstairs with a pair of scissors and a comb and asks me to cut his hair...after I recovered from choking and slightly freaking out I agreed to do it.

When I was getting ready to start...I actually had no idea where to begin.  Do you go from bottom to top or back to front or visa versa?  Oh crap...what was I going to do?

So I started on the top and just made sure that it was even by pulling the hair up between my fingers and then cutting slightly above my fingers.  This is what I have seen my hair dresser do...isn't it?

Well after about 15 minutes and a HUGE pile of hair on the ground later, I was done.

He went in and took a shower and then did his hair the way he usually would and I am proud to announce...it looks awesome!  Who would have thought I had such a hidden talent?  LOL

I can't believe he would even put a pair of scissors in my hand.  I can tell you this though, there are as many cuts on my hand as there are in his hair.

Another one for the books...

What did he say???

We are a family that likes to decorate for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving.  It's so much fun and considering that it goes down after New Year's, we have a limited amount of time to enjoy it and want to get the most out of it.

So this year, like all the others...our decorations are up and we have presents under the tree (thanks to Black Friday) and are enjoying Christmas already.

This evening, my daughter Emilie was in the living room by the Christmas tree and I had just got done trying to figure out where the little thing to turn on the Christmas tree lights were at.  I looked all over however I must admit that I wouldn't be able to find things if they fell out of the sky, landed on my head and started to wiggle.  So I asked my husband, "Babe, where do you turn the Christmas tree lights on at?"  He seemed a little irritated which I didn't really understand...and then he said (mind you the Christmas presents are wrapped)..."It's under the guitar!"  Note: you can see the red package in the above picture to the left of the tree.  My jaw hit the ground as one of my little girls is standing there next to the tree as he is saying this...I said, "What did you just say?"  And he said it again..."I said it's under the guitar."  I immediately asked him to go ahead and tell Emilie what the rest of the presents were while he was at it...and it hit him.

I was mildy friggin furious angry!!

We are really big on forgiving each other when the other asks for forgiveness...but I must admit, tonight was a hard one for me.  LOL  But I forgave him.

I then had to have a quick talk with Emilie about the present and that if she wanted to forget it until Christmas...that would be great.  We both laughed and then she promised not to tell her sister until they opened them up...we'll see how that goes.

MY DH...

My darling husband (DH) and I have been really working on being kinder to each other and communicating with each other more...since our Marriage Retreat last weekend that is.  But how do you come home and not let anything bother you any more.

He is so kind and does so many wonderful things to help me that when he does good things...how can you complain about what he isn't doing.  For example, we have just moved into our new wonderful house...we had a bit huge amount of stuff left in the garage on the left hand side so he was not able to park in the garage.  He took the liberty of getting all of that stuff upstairs in to the house and cleaning the garage ever so tidy so his car would fit...but what about the STUFF IN THE HOUSE????

Perhaps I am the only one that remembers that this week is Thanksgiving and we are having it at our house...or no wait, I know...I am the only one that remembers that we have company coming over TONIGHT and there are boxes and boxes of stuff in my living room and bar area.  Ugh!

So unlike what I would have done last week...I kept my mouth shut.  Here is the hard part...I broke my back when I was 24 and am unable to assist him in picking up these boxes and moving them to the appropriate rooms.  So there they sit while my girls and are are living around them.  And yet...our company is in route to our house and will be here in about 5 hours.

Another thing that I will get off of my chest on this FABULOUS blog...so as not to have to mention it to the husband, is the fact that when I come home at night after my business meetings and he has every light in the house on, has put the opened orange juice in the pantry, shut the pilot light on the fire place off so I can't turn it on and has not done one thing with the living room...how does one keep their mouth shut then?  Well sadly, I didn't.  I'm not rude, if you can think of pointing out everything that he didn't do not rude, but I tried to be kind and didn't want to make it mean...just pointing out the obvious.  O.K. O.K., so I didn't think there was anything wrong with it until I just wrote it...it might have been uncalled for.

So my question for all you "professional wives" out there is....How do you communicate the things that are making you borderline crazy to your spouse without offending them about the stuff that they did do?

And with that...I am off to go sweep around the boxes in the living room.

God bless you all and Happy Thanksgiving!

Husbands...

I got my hair done today which is always an excting day for me.  You see my hair grows like a stinkin weed...and I know those of you out there whose hair does not grow are disgusted by my complaining about this, but you have to figure how much money I have to spend on getting my hair done.  My hair has grown out over an inch in 5 weeks...ugggg!!!
So today, I was back in getting my hair done.  I love my friend that does it and she does do such an excellent job.  She LOVES me...cuz I cover part of her mortgage payment ever month...I can tell you that much.  Not to mention it makes me feel brand new when I walk out of the salon.  :)
So I mentioned to my husband tonight that I had bought some of the hair supplies there...and do you know the first question out of his mouth was, "how much?"  There wasn't any care for..."how does it work?", "what is it gonna do for your hair?", "what brand is it?"...only, how much is it?
So I thought it would be funny to let him see the bottles of the hair products.  They were Pureology products and on the bottom of the bottles, it says $22.00 each.  Now I know my husband well enough to know that he would just pass out knowing that I spent that much money on a "little" bottle of stuff for my hair, when I actually don't need any at all.  The funny part is that I got them out of the 75% off basket...which made those $22.00 bottles of hair products turn in to $5.50 each...can I get a what, what?  That was a phenomenal deal!  Mind you, I did buy every one of them in the basket, but why wouldn't you.  I could get 4 for the price of 1.  Woo Hoo!
I am thankful that my husband is still in training...so next time I will buy products just to give him the opportunity to ask what it does before he asks how much it is.  LOL  What a loving husband!
