Aloha Friday...sleep overs

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too.
Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link over at An Island Life. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

My Question:
What advice do you have for our first "sleep over" tonight?

I don't really have any advice on this topic because my girls just finished 1st grade and even though they have slept at family members houses...they have never had their own "official" sleep over.
So tonight (Friday night) they are each having a friend spend the night.  Do you remember your first sleep over with your kids and if so do you have any advice on how to make this a fun, argument free (lol), evening?

Don't forget to hop on over to An Island Life to link up!

  2. Maybe start with some craft, makeovers (playing at hair stylist), movie with popcorn.

For the morning, prepare a menu for breakfast and each girl choose their favorite meal. Then, have some fun at the backyard playing at the pool.

    Hope it helps.

  3. It depends on if they like being crafty or if they like getting dirty. If they like getting dirty, then let them have a whipped cream fight (way before bedtime) and then hose off and into the pool. If they are into being artistic, then have them decorate cupcakes with their own candy or designs, or make their own individual pizzas and then, have a game of Bingo with prizes for the winners. You know, they will basically let you know what it is that they want to do. It's going to be so much fun!! I can't wait to hear all about it.

  4. Gosh I'm clueless! I've never done these as a child, so I have no idea what to give advice on or encourage.

I hope it's fun! I think most of what to be done will come naturally.

  5. projects are always good... have them design their own food... either tacos, pizza or ...? Or decorate cookies, cupcakes or sundays. Anything to have fun & keep them occupied. Also have a few movie choices and a good breakfast for the morning.

  11. I remember going to my friends house and we had fun snacks to make, crafts to do and movies to watch. My son is finishing 1st grade and has no interest, guess that is the difference with boys and girls. Good luck!

  15. Princess Nagger just finished first grade, so she hasn't had her first sleep over yet - but I asked her and she said pizza and a movie are a definite, and maybe making something would be cool, too. ;) Good luck! I look forward to reading all about it! :)

  18. Our girls are a few years away hosting sleepovers, but I remember the first big slumber party I went to, as a 7- or 8-year old. We stayed up ALL NIGHT and had so much fun! And I remember my mom being pretty mad that I hadn't slept. :)

Hope your girls had a great time...you'll have to post about it!
