Aloha Friday...

Aloha Friday is the day to take it easy, and relax!! Aloha is hosted by Kailani! You can play too…just post a question in your blog and link up on Kailani’s current Aloha Friday post. Then visit the other blogs in the list, link up and answer their fun questions!

My question for today is:

Do you count calories?
If so, what is the easiest way you have found?  If not, why don't you?

I have counted calories throughout my life but have not done it over the last couple of years recently.  I listened to the audio CD out of this month's SUCCESS Magazine and the person featured in this month's SUCCESS Magazine is the Fitness Diva...Jillian Michaels from The Biggest Loser.  She is on the audio CD talking about your body and mind and how they go so hand in hand.  One of the most important things she said you can do to keep track of your weight is to count calories.  I am going to start counting calories becuase I think it's rediculous that I am in a constant battle with my weight.  I put a lot of energy into a lot of things but let one of the most important things, my own health, slip by.
I used to be a part of an awesome website called http://www.sparkpeople.com/ this is a free website that helps you manage what you eat, what you should eat, how much of it you can eat, etc.  I am going to try to find an application for my cell phone so that I can track what I eat and the calories right in my phone.
I would love to hear any methods you have that work for you with calorie counting and keeping track of what you eat.
And if you don't count calories...please comment and tell me why?
Don't forget to leave some bloggy love in the comment section below...Happy Friday!

  2. Never really count calories - I'm very active and burns lots of energy I think! But in the past, if I ever needed to lose a couple of pounds, I always tried to just cut out sweets and eat lots of fish, chicken and veggies of all sorts!! I have a sweet tooth, so I also always keep a little chocolate "something" around the house! I f I can just get a nibble of something yummy and sweet, it usually does the trick!! Happy Friday! Love the header in your Blog - the twins are soooo cute!!

  5. No, but I should. I'm a social worker though and we don't like numbers. I run far from anything to do with counting:) I don't do anything most of the time (BAD) but if I do, I just try to eat less!

  7. Nope, I like to enjoy the food I'm eating, not worry what I'm going to look like if I eat it. I know that fruits and veggies are better for me than cake. It just means that when I want a piece of cake, only have a piece of cake, not the whole cake.

  8. I use to before switching to Dr. Ian Smiths Diet which is awesome. I download his free diet off of the million pound challenge & I have lost so much weight not counting one calorie. I do weigh my food by electronic scale. Thanks for visiting my blog

  9. I dont count calories - BUT after each of my kids, I did do weight watchers to loose my baby weight. So even though I no longer follow WW anymore, I still think of food in points.

  11. I don't count calories. I never have, but I do try to think about what I've had in the day and manage that way. Have a great weekend!

  12. no calorie counting here. I think it's ridiculous. I think if you go by the rule to never eat anything more than can fit in the palm of your hand that is good. Cut out fried foods, and sugar fattening snacks and the breads.

You'll need to eat 5x's a day. I have been doing fruit smoothies for breakfast this week and Half a sandwich twice the meat. eating off a saucer instead of a full size plate. Haven't stepped on the scale but I notice in the mirror a difference. FOr now that's good enough for me. I also started walking to pick my daughter up from school 16 blocks total!

  14. I don't count calories. I really don't have the time. I watch the fat grams and and carbohydrates. I try to eat sweets and fats in moderation and drink lots of water. After turning 30, *gulp*, I have started working out at the gym on a weekly basis.
